Elizabeth Sellman, MPA, joined Mount Sinai Beth Israel in 2014. She initially served as the hospital’s Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer before taking on her current role as President and Chief Operating Officer of Mount Sinai Beth Israel and Downtown. Prior to joining Mount Sinai, Ms. Sellman held progressive leadership positions at Northwell Health between 1996 and 2014. She led clinical departments and service lines for Northwell, and managed hospital operation teams.  

In her current role, Ms. Sellman will work alongside Kelly Cassano, DO, Chief Executive Officer of the Mount Sinai Doctors Faculty Practice, Dean for Clinical Affairs of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and Senior Vice President for Ambulatory Operations, who will retain overall responsibility for ambulatory facilities.

Ms. Sellman holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of South Florida and a Master of Public Administration-Health Administration from Long Island University. She has made more than a dozen academic presentations and belongs to the American College of Healthcare Executives.
