Institute for Family Health - Family Health Center of Harlem

Services: Institute for Family Health offers complete dental services for children and adults including routine cleanings, help with dentures, or help with serious conditions.

Cost: Accept Medicaid and most insurance plans. If you don’t have insurance, they will still care for you at a reduced fee.

Boriken Neighborhood Health Center Dental Clinic

Services: Preventive care: cleaning, fluoride treatment, and x-rays. All services performed by dental hygiene students and supervised by licensed dental hygienists and dentists.

Cost: $10 all services except x-rays (may include multiple visits); free cleaning for seniors 65+ (with $3 dental hygiene kit); x-rays $15-$25; Cash only

Harlem Hospital Center

Lutheran Medical Center Dental

William F. Ryan Community Health Center (Upper West Side)

There is a low cost pharmacy plan for uninsured patients. The Ryan Health Network’s Patient Accounts Department offers assistance with applications for financial assistance programs. 

Ryan/Adair Community Health Center (Harlem)

NYU College of Dentistry

Services: Discounted comprehensive dental services performed by dental residents.
Appointments: Call to make an appointment. The last appointment is at 6:00 pm Monday - Thursday and 2:00 pm Friday. For pediatric dental appointments, call 212-998-9650.
Cost: Financing options available for uninsured. Note: First appointment will last approximately two hours and will include registration and appropriate x-rays. A second two-hour visit will be required to complete a comprehensive oral examination and inform you of our findings and diagnosis, at which time we can discuss various treatment options. 

Bellevue Hospital
Location: 462 First Avenue (at 27th Street)

  • Adult Dental Clinic
    Room 5S23 on the 5th floor of the Hospital Building

    Hours: Monday – Friday, 9 am – 4 pm
    Services: Teeth replacement, dentures, implants, crowns, bridges, and some extractions that don’t require sedation. The dental clinic does not provide routine dental maintenance, such as cleaning, and does not perform tooth repairs, such as fillings or root canals.
    Appointments: The last appointment is at 3 pm.

  • Pediatric Dental Clinic
    Location: 3rd floor of the Ambulatory Care Building (‘B’ Building)

    Hours: Monday and Thursday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm; Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
    Services: Oral examination for infants. Routine cleanings, x-rays, fluoride treatments, and restorative care such as filling and crowns for children and adolescents.
    Appointments: The last appointment is at 3:00 pm.

  • Oral/Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic
    Location: Room 5S23 on the 5th floor of the Hospital Building

    Hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9 am – 4 pm; Tuesday and Thursday, 9 am to 12noon
    Pathology appointments: Thursday, 3 pm – 5 pm
    Services: All aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery including extractions and dental implants (see website for a full list of services).
    Appointments: The clinic accepts emergencies and walk-ins. The last appointment is at 3 pm.
    Eligibility: The Oral/Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic serves adults and children from infancy to 21 years of age.
